The Yoga of Trust - Jules Paxton's New Yoga

...stuff if you have a yoga, bodywork and breath or pranayama background.

I havent seen much in the old Yogic texts about partner work but it seems unlikely they didnt get together and play. And I think that Trust Yoga or related forms are going to really grow in the West. Because as more people do yoga, and more couples do yoga, they are going to be amazed when they discover there is this magic, deep and sensual yoga that allows them to practice not just together, but actually with each other.

And there are Trust Yoga poses that allow you to open each others chests (but not in a surgical way!), deepen each others back bends or just enjoy the amazing feeling of holding and balancing your partner in such a way that he or she seems temporarily freed from gravity. You let them fly.

Sowellwhere are we. You do yoga by yourself. Well most of the time anyway. Or you go to class. But I kind of like this third option. I dont think Id do it all the time. But maybe once a week. Or more. My girlfriend is coming round to the idea. Jules says it can really become part of your regular practice. Theres certainly a magic to Trust Yoga. A good magic and a beautiful magic. In the west we have seen many changes happen in society. These changes which have gone from manual labor to what we have today, the service industry. This information age that we find ourselves in, is an age which puts in front computers. Computers operate at f...more

Ayurveda, Yoga - Unique Indian Culture

...Ayurveda and Yoga have a common history and vedic origin, and are the sister practices in the pursuit of physical and mental well being. Yoga is on the practical side of vedic teachings, while it is on the healing side and both shares a common goal which is attaining union with the Self and they complement and embrace each other

YOGA:Yoga includes a set of ethical imperatives and moral precepts, including diet, exercises and meditative aspects. It assumes that the mind is more subtle than the body, when both are brought into balance and health, the individual will be able to perceive his true nature which will allow life to be lived through him more freely and spontaneously. The aim of yoga is union with higher self, and can be achieved through its Eight Stages which are Yama - Right conduct towards others. Niyama - Right conduct towards oneself. Asana - Physical Postures. Pranayama - Control of the Breath. Pratyahara - Control of the Mind and Sense Organs. Dharana - Concentration and Control of the Attention. Dhyana - Meditation. Samadhi - Perfect balance and Unification.
